The Chicago Zephyrs (8-16) trailed by three in the ninth, but Peter Les was able to capture the lead back with a home run in the ninth, spurring the Chicago Zephyrs to a 9-8 win over the Southland Vikings (9-13) at Homewood HS on Tuesday.

With the Chicago Zephyrs trailing by three in the ninth inning, Les came to the plate and hit a grand slam, scoring Alan Frank, Alex Brown and Scott Kubo.

Les racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Chicago Zephyrs. He homered in the ninth inning.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 22 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.

Josh Camalick racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chicago Zephyrs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Phil Richmond improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chicago Zephyrs. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered one hit.

Jim Tucker (0-3) took the loss for the Southland Vikings. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
