The Northwest Indiana Oilmen escape the Will County CrackerJacks behind Negele's 6 strikeouts, 4-3

A great effort by Joshua Negele spurred the Northwest Indiana Oilmen (9-3) to a 4-3 win over the Will County CrackerJacks (5-4) on Thursday at Oil City Stadium.

The Will County CrackerJacks couldn't get anything going as long as Negele was pitching. The Will County CrackerJacks managed just one hit off of Negele, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his seven innings of work.

A walk-off single by Billy Miller gave the Northwest Indiana Oilmen the win.

Miller got on base two times in the game for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the ninth inning.

Chris Rudenga did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen, reaching base three times. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

Nik Mason recorded his first win of the year for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. He allowed one run over one inning. Mason struck out none, walked two and gave up two hits.

Jake OBrien couldn't get it done on the bump for the Will County CrackerJacks, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
