The Northwest Indiana Oilmen fend off the Chicago Zephyrs' late push, hold on 4-2

The Chicago Zephyrs (2-5) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen (6-2) on Saturday, as the Chicago Zephyrs fell 4-2 at Waubonsee CC after falling behind by four runs in the sixth inning.

The Chicago Zephyrs scored two runs in the sixth on a two-run single by KC Wright. Still, the Chicago Zephyrs couldn't catch the Northwest Indiana Oilmen.

Kale Popp picked up the win for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Popp pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out one.

Ryan Hudspeth ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
