The Northwest Indiana Oilmen seize victory thanks to late single, drop the Illinois Lincolns 9-7

After six lead changes in Monday's game at Oil City Stadium, the Northwest Indiana Oilmen (2-1) finally pulled out a 9-7 win over the Illinois Lincolns (0-2).

Billy Miller went a perfect 4-4 at the dish for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first, fifth, and eighth innings.

Jim Hinklemen shut down the Illinois Lincolns while he was on the mound. Hinklemen gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Steve Cservenyak racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Illinois Lincolns. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

Sam Welvaert couldn't get it done on the mound for the Illinois Lincolns, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
