The Dayton Docs (0-1) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Portland Rockets (1-0) on Tuesday, as the Dayton Docs fell 2-1 at Wright State University after falling behind by two runs in the first inning.

The Dayton Docs scored one run in the ninth on an RBI double by Brady Stewart. Still, the Dayton Docs couldn't catch the Portland Rockets.

Dalton Tinsley did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Portland Rockets, reaching base three times. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

The Dayton Docs had no answer for Mitch Waters, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Waters held the Dayton Docs hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Trent Szkutnik ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
