Matt Redding drove in the go-ahead run to give the McAllen Thunder (26-45) the lead in the sixth inning, as the McAllen Thunder hung on to beat the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (40-30) 7-2 on Tuesday.
Antoin Gray to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on a double by Miguel Alfonzo. Finally, Redding came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and singled, plating Gray.Gray racked up three RBIs on two hits for the McAllen Thunder. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Alexei Perez struck out seven, paving the way for a the McAllen Thunder win. Perez allowed no earned runs on seven hits and two walks over 8 1/3 innings.
