Francisco Santana collected three hits, sparking the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (18-11) to a 5-2 victory over the McAllen Thunder (9-21) on Saturday at Harlingen Field.

Luis Chirinos picked up the win for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. Chirinos pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out three.

Demetrius Banks ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked six, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
