The Fort Worth Cats come from behind to beat the San Angelo Colts, 12-11

A loss looked likely for the Fort Worth Cats (7-3) when they trailed by one run in the ninth inning, but the Fort Worth Cats were able to capture the lead back with a a two-run double by Chuck Caufield in the ninth inning, spurring the Fort Worth Cats to a 12-11 win over the San Angelo Colts (7-3) at Foster Field on Friday.

With the Fort Worth Cats trailing by one in the ninth inning, Caufield came to the plate and doubled, scoring Chad Gabriel and RJ Harris.

Caufield had three extra-base hits for the Fort Worth Cats. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth and ninth innings.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 23 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were seven pitchers used in the game.

Blake Parry got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered three hits.

David Phillips couldn't get it done on the hill for the San Angelo Colts, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
