Chris Rice drove in the go-ahead run to give the Indians AAA (10-11) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Indians AAA hung on to beat the Rockies AAA (11-10) 5-2 on Saturday.
With the score tied at two in the sixth inning, Rice came to the plate and, bringing home Cooper Watson.Mitchell McGeein led the Indians AAA's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the fifth inning.
Eric Langton looked sharp on the mound. The Rockies AAA managed just two hits off of the the Indians AAA's pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his seven innings of work.
Matt Whitehead was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Indians AAA batters and allowing two runs.
Whitehead couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rockies AAA, taking a loss.
