Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Sleestacks (12-5) outscored the Cougar Bait (4-13) 14-12 in seven innings.

The teams totaled 40 hits in the game.

The Sleestacks held off the Cougar Bait, as the Cougar Bait were unable to overcome a 11-run third inning deficit.

The Cougar Bait scored on an RBI single by Brian Hudson, a sacrifice fly by John K, and an RBI single by Pat F. in the fourth inning, a two-run single by Paul Lauten, a single by Lauten, a two-run single by Lauten, and an RBI single by Dave Cuevas in the fifth inning, and an RBI single by F., a two-run double by Pete Clark, an RBI single by Hudson, and an RBI single by Perry West in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Cougar Bait couldn't get over the hump.

Mike Kocherkevich racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Sleestacks. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Dave Tellerman recorded his fifth win for the Sleestacks even though he allowed 12 runs over seven innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered 23 hits.

Lauten ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 13 runs in five innings, walked six and struck out none.
