The Victoria Generals top the Alexandria Aces behind Weiss' 5 hits, 9-5

An exceptional effort by Eric Weiss led the Victoria Generals (28-22) to a 9-5 win over the Alexandria Aces (22-29) on Thursday at Bringhurst Field.

Weiss had three extra-base hits for the Victoria Generals. He homered in the third inning, tripled in the second and fifth innings, and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with six lead changes.

The Alexandria Aces had no answer for Daniel Tunchez Jr., who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of the the Victoria Generals' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Jami Rachal racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Alexandria Aces. He tripled in the second inning.

Tanner Green got the win, running his season record to 2-2. Green struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Devin Malone couldn't get it done on the mound for the Alexandria Aces, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out one.
