Smelser helps the Brazos Valley Bombers down the Alexandria Aces 5-1

Nick Smelser went 2-3 as the Brazos Valley Bombers (15-10) took home a 5-1 victory over the Alexandria Aces (11-15) at Bringhurst Field on Saturday.

He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Andrew Godail shut down the Alexandria Aces while he was on the mound. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of the the Brazos Valley Bombers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Tyler Vail couldn't get it done on the hill for the Alexandria Aces, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
