The Ottawa Fat Cats (13-11) and the Guelph Royals (10-12) passed the lead back and forth five times on Saturday at David E. Hastings Stadium, but in the end the Ottawa Fat Cats pulled out a 5-4 win over the Guelph Royals.
Kyle Barclay got on base three times in the game for the Ottawa Fat Cats. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
The Guelph Royals had no answer for Brett Sabourin, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Guelph Royals managed just one hit off of Sabourin, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his three innings of work.
A bright spot for the Guelph Royals in the defeat was Andrew Vant Wout, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.
Ryan Greco was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
