The Newfoundland and Labrador (0-1) didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as the Vaughan (1-0) captured a blowout 12-1 win in six innings at BBoys Vaughan Grove one.

The Vaughan scored four runs in the sixth on an error, a sacrifice fly by Robert Cristofaro, an RBI single by Bradley Williams, and a sacrifice fly by Gregory Ruffa.

Ryan Rijo racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Vaughan. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the sixth innings.

Luke VanRycheghem brought the heat against the Newfoundland and Labrador during his outing. VanRycheghem held the Newfoundland and Labrador hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Matthew Bondy recorded his first win of the year for the Vaughan. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. Bondy struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.

Randy Reid was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out six.
