The Willmar Stingers (40-27) beat the Mankato MoonDogs (40-27) 8-3 on Thursday at Bill Taunton Stadium behind Hunter Dozier, who went 2-4.
He singled in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.Josh Biggs looked sharp on the mound. Biggs held the Mankato MoonDogs hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Danny Murphy was hot from the plate for the Mankato MoonDogs. Murphy went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Michael Hahn recorded his third win of the year for the Willmar Stingers. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. Hahn struck out five, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Zac Custer was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
