The Rochester Honkers make the most of 9 hits in 6-5 victory over the Duluth Huskies

Both the Rochester Honkers (13-19) and the Duluth Huskies (16-14) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Rochester Honkers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-5 win at Wade Stadium.

The Rochester Honkers would not relinquish the lead as the Duluth Huskies were unable to weather a six-run fourth inning deficit.

The Duluth Huskies scored on a sacrifice fly by Paul Karmeris in the seventh inning and , a two-run single by Max Duval, an RBI single by Luke Campbell, a sacrifice fly by Treyson Vavra, and a hit by pitch in the eighth inning. Unfortunately, the Duluth Huskies weren't able to take the lead back.

Dakota Smith racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Rochester Honkers. He singled in the first and second innings and doubled in the fourth inning.

The Rochester Honkers relied on Matt Kent to eat up innings en route to the win. Kent allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Josh Mooney was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
