The Anchorage Glacier Pilots (24-14) didn't stand a chance on Saturday, as the Matsu Miners (16-22) captured a blowout 10-3 win at Hermon Brothers Field.
The Matsu Miners scored four runs in the fifth on a groundout by Bill Cullen, , a two-run double by Chris Taladay, a two-run double by Taladay, and a groundout by PJ Torres.
Taladay racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Matsu Miners.
Jimmy Reed brought the heat against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots during his outing. Reed held the Anchorage Glacier Pilots hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Kevin Cornelius racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh innings.
Ross Mitchell got the win, running his season record to 4-2. He allowed two runs over five innings. Mitchell struck out five, walked one and gave up five hits.
Drew VanOrden (2-1) took the loss for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out two.
