A single, bringing home Josh Miller gave the Peninsula Oilers (16-9) the lead in the seventh inning, and the Peninsula Oilers hung on to beat the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (14-9) 4-2 on Thursday.

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots couldn't get anything going as long as Nigel Nootbaar was pitching. Nootbaar gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

John Richy was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Peninsula Oilers batters and allowing two runs.

Jesse DeLong ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
