Alex Staehely went 2-4, helping the Peninsula Oilers (11-9) to a 9-5 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks (10-8) on Thursday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

JD Sales's six strikeouts were enough to push the Peninsula Oilers past the Chugiak Chinooks. Sales allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks over seven innings.

Adam Humes had two extra-base hits for the Chugiak Chinooks. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the first and ninth innings.

Mike Jeffreys was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out eight.
