The Atwater Aviators (11-10) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-1 to the Alameda Merchants (7-10) on Sunday.

The Alameda Merchants' Roger Luna was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

The Alameda Merchants relied on Jesse Schumacher to eat up innings en route to the win. Schumacher pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out three.

Joe Medeiros was solid at the plate for the Atwater Aviators. Medeiros went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Zack Speer (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed no runs.
