Robert Covarrubias hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Covarrubias threw a shutout to carry the California Glory (16-9) to a 6-0 victory over the Salinas Tomahawks at Monterey Pennisula College.

Covarrubias' 11 strikeouts helped the California Glory to the victory. The California Glory's pitcher gave up just six hits over nine shutout innings.

The California Glory blew out the Salinas Tomahawks (0-23) thanks to seven hits, including zero extra base hits. The California Glory scored three runs in the ninth on a three-run single by Tyler Stieb and a single by Tyler Shepherd.

Shepherd racked up two RBIs on three hits for the California Glory.

Oscar Carlstedt (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just eight innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
