The Quebec Capitales (57-31) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the New Jersey Jackals (52-37), recording a 9-3 victory on Tuesday at Le Stade Municipal.
The game was decided quickly as the Quebec Capitales exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI double by Rene Leveret during the first inning and an RBI single by Josh Colafemina, an RBI single by Jonathan Malo, an error, and an RBI single by Leveret in the second inning helped the Quebec Capitales put some runs on the board early.The Quebec Capitales were led by Colafemina's hitting. Colafemina went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run.
The New Jersey Jackals couldn't get anything going so long as Guillaume Leduc was on the hill. Leduc held the New Jersey Jackals hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Angel Berroa paced the New Jersey Jackals at the plate. Berroa went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Dustin Crenshaw recorded the win for the Quebec Capitales. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Crenshaw struck out one, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Steve Fox (11-3) took the loss for the New Jersey Jackals. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked two and struck out five.
