The Newark Bears (30-58) and the Quebec Capitales (56-31) traded the lead five times on Sunday, but the Newark Bears ended up on top with a 6-4 win over the Quebec Capitales.

Orlando Mercado racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Newark Bears. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Jonathan Malo got on base four times in the game for the Quebec Capitales. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first, fifth, and eighth innings.

Sergio Espinosa improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Newark Bears. Espinosa struck out two, walked none and gave up three hits.

Chris Cox (1-2) took the loss for the Quebec Capitales. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
