The New Jersey Jackals cruise past the Worcester Tornadoes, 8-1

Story by Narrative Science.

The Worcester Tornadoes (21-49) didn't put up much of a fight on Wednesday, as the New Jersey Jackals (41-29) cruised to a blowout 8-1 win at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

A two-run home run by Bryan Sabatella delivered the runs in the eighth. The New Jersey Jackals had four hits in the inning.

Nick Salotti was solid at the plate for the New Jersey Jackals. Salotti went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the second, fifth, and eighth innings.

The New Jersey Jackals got the win thanks in large part to Dustin Birosak's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Birosak allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks over six innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Worcester Tornadoes' Jerod Edmondson. Edmondson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Dan Sausville (3-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
