Davis leads the Newark Bears to 8-3 win over the Rockland Boulders

A magnificent effort by Quentin Davis led the Newark Bears (19-44) to an 8-3 win over the Rockland Boulders (33-29) on Tuesday at Provident Bank Park.

Davis rocked the Rockland Boulders with two home runs. Davis went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Davis homered in the second and fourth innings.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with four lead changes.

Phillip Cuadrado racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rockland Boulders. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Greg Lane improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Newark Bears. He allowed two runs over five innings. Lane struck out one, walked one and gave up five hits.

Will Hassett ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
