Patrick DAoust brought home the go-ahead run to give the Quebec Capitales (34-18) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Quebec Capitales hung on to beat the Newark Bears (17-36) 6-3 on Thursday.
Josue Peley to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, DAoust came to the plate with the score tied at one in the eighth inning, and, bringing home Peley.Sebastien Boucher racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Quebec Capitales. He homered in the ninth innings.
Shawn Joy allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings of work.
A bright spot for the Newark Bears in the defeat was Brian Parker, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.
Guillaume Duguay improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Quebec Capitales. He allowed two runs over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered three hits.
Anthony Pluta (2-3) took the loss for the Newark Bears. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked four, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
