The Rockland Boulders make the most of 8 hits in 5-4 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs

The Rockland Boulders and the Lincoln Saltdogs (41-59) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Rockland Boulders capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-4 win at Provident Bank Park.

The Rockland Boulders held off the Lincoln Saltdogs, as the Lincoln Saltdogs were unable to overcome a four-run second inning deficit.

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored on an RBI double by David Espinosa in the third inning, a solo home run by Nate Wilder in the fifth inning, and an RBI single by Matt Forgatch and an error in the eighth inning. Despite their efforts, the Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't get over the hump.

Pat Moran recorded the win for the Rockland Boulders. He allowed two runs over six innings. Moran struck out three, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Wade Mackey was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
