The Winnipeg Goldeyes need walk-off single to beat the Sioux Falls Pheasants, 2-1

A walk-off single from Price Kendall brought home the winning run for the Winnipeg Goldeyes (38-27) in a 2-1 victory over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (29-36) at Shaw Park on Friday.

It was a good day at the plate for the Winnipeg Goldeyes' Kendall. Kendall went 1-5 and drove in one. He singled in the ninth inning.

The Sioux Falls Pheasants had no answer for Matthew Rusch, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Rusch gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

A bright spot for the Sioux Falls Pheasants in the defeat was Mark Michael, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Brian Beuning improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Dusty Gober (0-2) took the loss for the Sioux Falls Pheasants. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
