The Sioux City Explorers (24-28) outlasted the St Paul Saints (23-26) at Midway Stadium 6-4 on Tuesday after 12 innings.

With the St Paul Saints trailing by two, Willie Cabrera came to the plate and homered, scoring Jim Rapoport.

The Sioux City Explorers were led by Brandon Newton's hitting. Newton went 4-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second, fifth, seventh, and twelfth innings.

Chris Bodishbaugh shut down the St Paul Saints while he was on the mound. Bodishbaugh gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Cabrera racked up three RBIs on two hits for the St Paul Saints. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Bret Severtson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
