Miranda's single gives the Gary SouthShore RailCats walk-off win over the Lincoln Saltdogs, 5-4

A walk-off single from Sergio Miranda brought home the winning run for the Gary SouthShore RailCats (19-29) in a 5-4 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs (19-29) in 11 innings at Gary, Ind. (U.S. Steel Yard) on Saturday.

Miranda put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He doubled in the fourth and eighth innings and singled in the second and eleventh innings.

Nolan Nicholson recorded his second win of the year for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Moises Melendez (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Gary SouthShore RailCats were sparked by Miranda and Chris Carrara, who teamed up for eight hits and two RBIs.
