A superb effort by Robert Coe spurred the St Paul Saints (22-23) to a 2-1 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs (19-28) on Friday at Midway Stadium.
Coe kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Lincoln Saltdogs batters. Coe allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks over nine innings.
Alex Garabedian helped the St Paul Saints pull ahead for the duration in the sixth inning. After Tanner Townsend, Garabedian came to the plate with two outs in the sixth and singled, plating Townsend.
Tycen Po Vey was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed one run.
