An awesome effort by CJ Ziegler led the Wichita (23-8) to a 7-1 win over the Amarillo (18-13) on Tuesday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Ziegler hit two home runs for the Wichita. Ziegler went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Ziegler homered in the first and eighth innings.
The Wichita's bats came to life in the first inning. The Wichita's bats caught fire leading to four runs.
The Amarillo had no answer for Nick Schreiber, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Schreiber gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Chuck Lofgren was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked six, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
