Mazzola leads the Winnipeg to 12-5 win over the Lincoln

Thursday was a great day for Josh Mazzola, as he hit two home runs to carry the Winnipeg (13-6) to a 12-5 victory over the Lincoln (10-11) at Haymarket Park.

The Winnipeg stamped out any hope for the Lincoln with five runs in the seventh.

Leivi Ventura racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lincoln. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Rich Hawkins recorded his first win of the year for the Winnipeg. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Tony Butler (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The Winnipeg were sparked by Amos Ramon and Price Kendall, who teamed up for nine hits and nine RBIs.
