The Amarillo top the Laredo in back-and-forth affair, 5-4

The Amarillo (30-25) outlasted the Laredo (23-31) on Thursday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 5-4 win at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Amarillo finally managed to grab the lead after a strong ninth inning. Scored Harrison Kain and gave the Amarillo the lead for good.

Jake Opitz had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

It was a good day at the plate for the Laredo's Stephen Pearson. Pearson went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Wes Littleton improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Amarillo. Littleton struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Chaz Roe was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.

The Amarillo were sparked by Matthew Tucker and Opitz, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
