The Laredo (8-9) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Grand Prairie (9-8), and the Laredo lost 3-1 to the Grand Prairie after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.
The Laredo scored one run in the sixth on a groundout by Yunesky Sanchez. Despite their efforts, the Laredo couldn't get over the hump.
The Grand Prairie were led by Trent Lockwood's hitting. Lockwood went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third inning.
John Brownell picked up the win for the Grand Prairie. Brownell allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.
Matt Way couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Laredo, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
