The Sanford River Rats (11-18) didn't have a chance on Sunday, as the Leesburg Lightning (19-9) won in blowout fashion, 9-3 at Pat Thomas Stadium/Buddy Lowe F.

The Leesburg Lightning scored two runs in the eighth on and an RBI double by Jason Matusik.

Michael Miller racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Leesburg Lightning. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

The Leesburg Lightning got the win thanks in large part to Josh Ganus's dominant, 10-strikeout performance. The Leesburg Lightning's pitcher gave up just two hits over five shutout innings.

Eric Bauer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
