A walk-off single from Merriwether brought home the winning run for the Walnut Creek Crawdads in a 2-1 victory over the Top Speed Baseball in 10 innings at Laney College on Wednesday.

Merriwether reached base two times in the game for the Walnut Creek Crawdads. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the tenth inning.

The Walnut Creek Crawdads were led by Mark Wangeman's hitting. Wangeman went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and tenth innings.

The Top Speed Baseball (23-20) couldn't get anything going as long as Y was on the mound. Y gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Jonathan Sa (0-2) took the loss for the Top Speed Baseball. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
