The USSSA Pride (12-10) shut the door early on the Chicago Bandits (15-8), capturing a 17-2 victory on Sunday at Astros Stadium.

The game was decided quickly as the USSSA Pride exerted their will early with nine runs in the first three innings.

, , a three-run double by Ashley Charters, and a wild pitch in the first inning and a two-run single by Kelly Kretschman and a sacrifice fly by Andrea Duran during the second inning supplied the early offense for the USSSA Pride.

Charters racked up three RBIs on two hits for the USSSA Pride.

Danielle Lawrie kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine the Chicago Bandits batters. Lawrie allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk over five innings.

Michelle Moses (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just zero innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The USSSA Pride easily handled the Chicago Bandits pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.
