Brittany Cervantes drove in the winning run to give the Chicago Bandits (14-6) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Chicago Bandits hung on to beat the Akron Racers (8-12) 6-3 on Friday.

With the score tied at three, Cervantes came to the plate and singled.

Monica Abbott struck out 10 hitters en route to the the Chicago Bandits win. Abbott allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings.

Lisa Norris ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with her fifth loss of the year. She lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
