The Akron Racers (4-5) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the USSSA Pride (4-4) on Thursday, as the Akron Racers fell 3-2 at Whataburger Field after falling behind by two runs in the fourth inning.

The Akron Racers scored one run in the sixth on an RBI single by Nicole Pauly. Still, the Akron Racers couldn't draw even.

The USSSA Pride's Francesca Enea was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. She singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

The USSSA Pride got the win thanks in large part to Danielle Lawrie's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Lawrie allowed two earned runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.

Kristina Thorson was charged with her second loss of the year. She lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
