After five lead changes in Wednesday's game at Regency Furniture Stadium, the Youses Orioles (20-20) finally pulled out a 4-2 win over the Southern Maryland Nationals (15-26).
The Youses Orioles took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Dominic Fratantuono and gave the Youses Orioles the lead for good.
David Sapp picked up the win for the Youses Orioles. Sapp allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.
Bill Root had a hot bat for the Southern Maryland Nationals. Root went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Austin Poretz was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
