The Rockville Express (24-10) took home an 8-1 victory over the Herndon Braves (13-20) on Wednesday at Montgomery College, fueled by four runs in the seventh inning.
Josh Hampton helped the Rockville Express pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. Norm Donkin singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on an error. Finally, Hampton came to the plate with the score tied at one, and doubled, bringing home Donkin and Ryne Willard.
Will Kengor reached base four times in the game for the Rockville Express. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He tripled in the eighth inning.
Nic Nowottnick handled the Herndon Braves' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Nowottnick allowed one earned run on four hits and five walks over six innings.
