Johnny Bladel collected three hits, helping the Vienna River Dogs (20-13) to an 8-3 victory over the Alexandria Aces (15-16) on Friday at James Madison High School.

The Alexandria Aces had no answer for Justin Albright, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Alexandria Aces managed just one hit off of Albright, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Joseph Vanderplas improved to 6-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Colin Milon (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
