The Herndon Braves (15-24) had a tough outing on Monday, as the Bethesda Big Train (25-16) dominated in an 11-1 win in seven innings at Shirley Povich Field.
The Bethesda Big Train scored four runs in the third on a groundout by Tucker Tobin, a two-run triple by Cole Norton, and an RBI single by Avondre Bollar.
The Bethesda Big Train were led by a flawless day at the dish by Bollar, who went 4-4 against the Herndon Braves' pitching.
Jordan Gross brought the heat against the Herndon Braves during his outing. The Herndon Braves managed just one hit off of the the Bethesda Big Train's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.
David Carlson improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Bethesda Big Train. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Mike Urbanski (1-3) took the loss for the Herndon Braves. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
