Johnny Cole drove in the winning run to give the Rockville Express (9-3) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Rockville Express hung on to beat the Southern Maryland Nationals (5-6) 7-6 on Saturday.

Norm Donkin to start the ninth. He then went from first to third on a single by Will Kengor. Finally, Cole came to the plate with the score tied at four, and doubled, plating Donkin, Kengor and Josh Hampton.

The Rockville Express held off the Southern Maryland Nationals, as the Southern Maryland Nationals were unable to overcome a three-run ninth inning deficit.

The Southern Maryland Nationals scored two runs in the ninth on a two-run triple by Cody Robinson. Despite their efforts, the Southern Maryland Nationals couldn't finish the comeback.

Christian Wolfe led the Rockville Express' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

The Southern Maryland Nationals had no answer for Kevin Keener, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Keener held the Southern Maryland Nationals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Travis Clark (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
