The Bethesda Big Train (25-16) beat the Southern Maryland Nationals (15-26) 11-5 on Thursday thanks to a four-run eighth inning.

Brendan Hendriks racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Ben Griset looked sharp on the mound. Griset held the Southern Maryland Nationals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Robby Kidd improved to 1-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Bethesda Big Train. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. Kidd struck out five, walked two and gave up two hits.

Nickolay Uherek ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
