Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Baltimore Redbirds seize victory thanks to late double, drop the Herndon Braves 7-3

Story by Narrative Science.

The Baltimore Redbirds (4-3) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Herndon Braves (2-5), securing a 7-3 victory on Wednesday at Calvert Hall HS.

Alex Pastorius got a hit in each of his four at bats. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the second, third, and seventh innings.

The Herndon Braves couldn't get anything going as long as LaMonte Wade Jr. was pitching. The Herndon Braves managed just two hits off of Wade Jr., who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his four innings of work.

Kyle Toomey racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Herndon Braves. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Mike Wood ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Baltimore Redbirds were sparked by Pastorius and Kyle Neverman, who teamed up for six hits and four RBIs.
