The Somerset Patriots (58-62) used a four-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Bridgeport Bluefish (53-63) 9-3 on Friday at Harbor Yard.
The Bridgeport Bluefish jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Bridgeport Bluefish were up until the seventh inning, but the Somerset Patriots had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on a two-run double by Yunesky Sanchez.
Adam Donachie racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Somerset Patriots. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Derell McCall got the win, running his season record to 8-5. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered eight hits.
