Bubba Bell went 2-4, helping the Sugar Land Skeeters (50-63) to a 1-0 victory over the Bridgeport Bluefish (52-59) on Saturday at Constellation Field, Sugar Land.

The Bridgeport Bluefish had no answer for Roger Clemens, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Bridgeport Bluefish managed just one hit off of Clemens, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Brad Thompson allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out four over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Michael Nix recorded his fourth win of the year for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Nix struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.

Thompson (3-3) took the loss for the Bridgeport Bluefish.
