The Lancaster Barnstormers (68-37) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Long Island Ducks (51-53), recording a 16-5 victory on Saturday at Bethpage Ballpark.
The game was decided quickly as the Lancaster Barnstormers exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Fehlandt Lentini, an RBI double by Ryan Harvey, an RBI single by Travis Denker, an RBI double by Kody Kirkland, and a three-run home run by Bridger Hunt during the first inning helped the Lancaster Barnstormers put some runs on the board early.The Long Island Ducks couldn't slow down Adam Godwin, who paced the Lancaster Barnstormers with six hits. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.
Josh Johnson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Long Island Ducks. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
John Halama improved to 9-7 on the year by picking up the win for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked five and surrendered five hits.
Adam Rowe was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked none and struck out none.
The Lancaster Barnstormers hammered the Long Island Ducks pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 19 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
